Would you really wear an iWatch?

The latest news around the interwebs is surrounding the possibility of Apple, and even Samsung, building an iWatch. Are you freaking kidding me?
That has got to be one of the dumbest thing I have heard since Google Glass came out!

Anyway, some of the the news comes from Bloomberg who obviously spoke with Samsung’s executive VP Lee Young Hee. He had the following to say:

“We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long,” Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, said during an interview in Seoul. “We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”

This is great that the largest companies in the world, even Apple, who supposedly have an entire team working on this device, have the money to invest in a total Dick Tracey iDevice. But my largest question is, Would you really wear an iWatch?

I sit at my Macbook Air all day, and have my iPhone in my pocket at all times, so there is no need in my daily workflows to have a watch on, let alone a smartwatch. What hole do people think this iDevice would actually fit into?

Would you honestly sit in an airport or the car waiting your wife to grab some last minute groceries and watch a movie or play Angry Birds on your iWatch?!?!?!

You have to have it to the companies though as someone will purchase it. Someone out there will want an iPad mini next to their Macbook Pro Retina in their backpack, while wearing an iWatch, all the while talking on their iPhone. Oh my…..

So, Would you really wear an iWatch?

  1. Of course, but mainly because I am a gadget geek. As I am currently in the process of designing an iPhone app, I admit to having discussed app ideas for an iWatch with another developer friend of mine.
All that said, I do see your point.
