TaiG Releases iOS 8.2 Beta Jailbreak Tool for Windows

As you may (or may not) know, TaiG recently released a jailbreak tool for Mac users to jailbreak the lastest iOS 8 beta’s, thats iOS 8.2 beta 1 & beta 2. Now we have a Window version of the jailbreak tool.

Currently there’s no jailbreak for the lastest public firmware, iOS 8.1.3, but…

If you happen to be on any one of the two iOS 8.2 beta’s, you can grab the jailbreak tool directly from the TaiG website here and jailbreak by following the tutorial here and just replace Step 4 with the latest TaiG jailbreak tool.

Its also worth mentioning that according to iH8sn0w, the iOS 8.2 beta’s were made before the TaiG jailbreak was made public, so they’re not using any new exploits to jailbreak these beta firmwares.

[Release] Axial – Awesome Quicklauncher for iOS 8

Axial is a beautiful tweak that gives you quick access to your favourite/most used apps as you bring up the Control Center. Sure we’ve seen similar tweaks but I feel Axial stands out with its customization options. Check out what I thought of this new tweak…

Jacob Carabello known for his Lockscreen tweaks like BuddyLock and AppBox, comes his latest offering…Axial, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Swiping up from the bottom brings up your Control Center and Axial’s quick launch apps. The smooth animation when the apps fade in from the top adds to the overall feel of Axial.

Once installed you’ll want to head into the Settings to configure Axial. Here you’ll find loads of customization options, you can enable/disable Axial on the Lockscreen, select which apps to have in your quick launcher, apps per row, opacity, size of apps, and more.

I personally love tweaks that have a bunch of customization options, allowing me to get a feel and look that works best for me.

If you really want, you can have up to 16 quick app shortcuts
A stand-out feature of Axial is that you can bypass your Lockscreen password when selecting an app in your quick launcher directly from the Lockscreen. Definitely a time-saver, maybe you want to write a quick note, look up something in Safari, or even listen to some music, it’s easily accessible, Axial will bypass your passcode for the apps you choose.
Final Thoughts
Axial is a beautifully made quick app launcher, giving you customization options that let you make Axial really yours, and I think this makes it stand out for me. I’ve played around with Axial for a few hours now and I can already see that I’ll be using it pretty regularly, I’ve often wanted to quickly write a note, sometimes even check my emails as I don’t use push notifications. Axial is a tweak that you never knew you needed, until you used it.
Axial is now available on the BigBoss repo in Cydia for $1.49
What do you think of Axial? Sound off in the comments below…

[Release] atom (iOS 8)

atom is a nice little tweak that brings quick app shortcuts to the Lockscreen. We’ve already seen such a tweak before on iOS 7 (JellyLock7) but we have yet to see an iOS 8 update to it, atom is a great alternative. Check out what I thought of this tweak…

You might have heard of atom before, it was first released a couple of years ago for iOS 6 and below by Tyler Nettleton & Surenix, but we didn’t get an update with the release of iOS 7, fast forward a year, we have an iOS 8 release courtesy of Surenix and new developer Daniel Turner…

You can have up to 6 app shortcuts with atom
atom also dynamically changes the grabber depending on your wallpaper

atom is very easy to use, once installed head over to the Settings and select which apps you’d like on your Lockscreen. Then lock/unlock your iPhone and swipe up and drag the circle grabber to bring up your selected app shortcuts, then hover over your desired app and release to bring up the passcode screen, enter your password and that’s it. If you don’t have Touch I.D enabled device, I’d suggest checking out atom (iOS 8), but if you do have a Touch I.D. enabled device I’d recommend BerryC8 from the developer of JellyLock7, which was created with Touch I.D. users in mind.

Final Thoughts
Designer Surenix and developer Daniel Turner make a great team and the tweak does it’s job, but for $2.99 I don’t feel I’m getting my moneys worth. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d like more customization options, like have rounded icons (without theming), resizable icons, have a choice of different grabbers, etc. I’ve played with atom for a while now on my iPhone and it is a really convenient tweak but is it worth the $2.99 price tag? probably not considering similar tweaks have been free in the past.

You can grab atom (iOS 8) from Cydia for $2.99 right now.
