Metal detectors apparently being installed at WWDC after Orlando mass shooting

First noted by Workflow developer and founder, Nick Frey, Apple are apparently installing metal detectors at WWDC ahead of todays keynote, which is a first for Apple’s annual developers conference.

This last minute security measure is apparently in response to the mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando over the weekend. The attack resulted in around 50 deaths with many more injuries.

Several Apple executives have acknowledged the tragedy on Twitter.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook wrote on Twitter “Our hearts go out to the victims of the unspeakable tragedy in #Orlando, their families and all who grieve with them.
