Jailbreakers Incorporate Flat Icons of iOS7 Concepts

LS Squares is a new jailbreak that adds some pretty sweet looking tiles to your lock screen. While questions arise centering around the lock screen for the upcoming iOS 7, Jailbreakers have been using it for a while now.
The question that most are wondering is what will it look like, what function will it serve.

Well LS Squares seems to have an useful idea and jailbreak already for you to enjoy. Granted you are running 6.1.2 and are jailbroken!

The LS Squares theme consists of 4 tiles: one for time, one for the date, one for current temperature and one for local weather conditions. As with most tweaks such as this, you can change the local weather location and change the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius very easily.

What really makes LS Squares stand out from the rest of the lock screen tweaks is the “metro, flat” style seen in the iOS 7 Concept we wrote about last week along with the tiled look of Windows 8 tiles.

As with all tweaks for your lock screen, you will need to install Winterboard to allow themes to rock your iDevice. This is almost always the second tweak you would install after Cydia shows up on your home screen!

So what do you think? Would you use it? I would need the notifications to be tweaked also to fit the style but I personally love the simplicity of it.

Nope. I don’t like it. Flatness for the sake of flatness is not good UI. It can get boring quick. The best article I’ve read about the possible approach to iOS 7 is this one: https://medium.com/thoughts-and-words/5ccef7b3e1fc
I have to agree on it too. I don’t think it will be a dramatic change as far as icons are concerned. As far as app UI, I like their take of “cards” pattern. Simple, pretty and efficient.

    1. Moe, that was a great read. I would love if the icons looked as his did also. Something less shiny etc.
BUT at the same time, it would take apps a while to catch up with new icons also as only the stock apps would be updated if that is the plan.

It will be interesting to see what is done for sure.
