Google for iOS now updated with always-on ‘Ok Google’ and more

Google has pushed a significant update to its iOS app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The new update brings detailed search results, the ability to copy and paste from anywhere in the app, and an always-on “Ok Google”, so it’s always listening. I can definitely see how this can speed up searching. More on this after the jump.

Before this version 7.0 update, users were only able to use “Ok Google” via the apps main search page, now you can use the voice search anywhere within the app. So, if for example you were reading an article on Tim Cook, you could simply say “When was he born?” and Google would bring up the answer for you. Pretty cool huh?

What’s new in version 7.0:
– Say “Ok Google” and ask a question while on any webpage to get smart answers about what you’re looking at. Try saying “Ok Google, where was her born” while reading an article about William Shakespeare
– More detailed search results
– Copy and paste from anywhere in the app

The update is available now for free on the App Store
