Competing with Apple Music, Spotify offers 2 months Premium for free through PayPal

In order to compete with Apple Music and attract more users, Spotify is now offering 2 months free when you sign up for Spotify Premium via PayPal. More on this after the jump.

Apple recently reported that they have seen 11 million subscribers to their Apple Music service, but this only shows the number of trial users, and who’s to say how many of the 11 million will continue to use Apple Music after the trial period.

With the free trial of Apple Music soon coming to an end, Spotify is hoping to attract those Apple Music users to subscribe to Spotify Premium with a new promotion. If you sign up to Spotify Premium with PayPal between 10th August and 11th September, you’ll get the first two months for free. When Apple’s Apple Music free trial is over users will have to pay $9.99 per month for access, there won’t be a free option, Spotify on the other hand has a free version, which has some limitations/restrictions (found below).

It’s going to be interesting to see how many people will continue to use Apple Music after the trial period has ended, with Spotify Premium costing the same as Apple Music at $9.99 per month.

Will you be renewing your Apple Music subscription?
