Apple seeds iOS 9.3 beta to developers with big improvements

You might be thinking this is just another iOS beta release with just a few bug fixes and overall iOS system improvements, but you would be wrong. iOS 9.3 comes with some pretty big changes. Here’s what has changed…

iOS 9.3 “A better experience every day. And night.”

Night Shift

One of the most notable changes in the new iOS firmware is a feature called Night Shift. Night Shift is very much like the popular jailbreak tweak, f.lux. It uses your device’s clock and location to determine when the sun goes down in your area. It then ‘warms up’ your screen color so that it’s easier on the eyes at night. If you remember, a while ago, users were able to side-load f.lux on non-jailbroken iOS 9 devices, but Apple soon put a stop to it, it’s clear to see why.

iOS 9.3 adds the ability to secure your sensitive notes with a password or even Touch I.D. You’ll now be able to sort your notes by date created, date modified or alphabetically.
Articles in For You are better tailored to your interests. And For You now suggests trending topics and Editor’s Picks. You’ll also be able to view everything in landscape mode on iPhones, the app will be overall more smoother and more responsive, so you can quickly access the latest stories.
Health categories such as Weights, Workouts and Sleep now make it easier to find Health-compatible apps by using a slider-menu. The Health app now displays your move, exercise, and stand data, as well as your goals, from Apple Watch.

iOS 9.3 adds more useful features to CarPlay, including enhanced Apple Music support. You can view the New and For You sections in Apple Music to find curated music based on your tastes. And the Nearby feature in Maps lets you find parking, restaurants, cafe’s and more with just a tap.

There’s also some education benefits coming soon, so keep your eye out for them. Apple has even created an entire web page to preview the new firmware. Check it out here.
