Apple Pay transaction limit raised to £30

When Apple Pay was brought to the UK, users were able to use the contactless system for payment under £20, today the maximum limit for Apple Pay transactions has been increased from to £30.

Apple Pay isn’t the only contactless payment system to increase the cap to £30, in fact, according to The Verge, all contactless payments have increased the cap to £30. This means those with contactless bank cards can benefit from the new change.

The reason for the change is that according to the UK Cards Association, “£30 covers common usages like an average supermarket spend, as well as most payments made in pubs, cinemas, gift shops, and elsewhere”, noted The Verge.

Apple Pay requires an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or an Apple Watch.
