Sources say that Apple won’t be offering pre-orders for the ‘iPhone 5se’ or the new iPad Air, but cautioned that plans could change. This would be a new strategy for Apple, as devices typically release one or two weeks after announcement.
The iPhone 5se will apparently borrow some design features from the iPhone 6, which means it may have curved edges, but will be smaller in size. It is also expected to include Apple’s A9 and M9 processors to support an always-on Siri, NFC chip for Apple Pay, and the ability to take Live Photos. Rumors also state that the iPhone 5se will replace the iPhone 5s, just as the iPhone 5 was replaced by the 5c.
The iPad Air 3 is said to include a Smart Connector and support for Apple-branded accessories. This means there’s an updated Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil in the pipeline to support the 9.7-inch device. The Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard are currently iPad Pro exclusive accessories.
Alongside the iPad Air 3 and iPhone 5se announcement, Apple is expected to unveil a series of new Apple Watch Sport Band colors.
